Bernard King was chosen in the second round of the 1977 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets and averaged 24.2 points per game to make the All-Rookie Team. A 6-foot-7 205-pound forward King was traded to the Utah Jazz in 1979 but missed most of the season with a severe knee injury and was sent to the Golden State Warriors.
