Tip #1: Visualize.

Try this trick for instant vertical jump increases. Test your jump by seeing how high on the backboard you get. Now close your eyes and vividly

Imagine yourself exploding upwards to a goal you have.

Next, imagine all the muscles in your legs getting stronger & bigger. Then you should focus on feeling lighter, loose & springy. Think about it for a moment.

Finally repeat this out-loud or in your head “I feel myself getting more powerful & much lighter”. Now you’re ready to try that jump again. Everyone I’ve

taught this method so far has experienced an immediate gain no less than 2 inches & some as much as 5 inches!

Tip #2: Forceful Arm-Swing.

This is a commonly neglected jump factor that can account for 15% more lift. Try this, next jump you go up for I want you to deliberately concentrate on swinging your arms up fast, timing it with the jump. See what happens!

Tip #3: Flexibility.

Start stretching at least 3x a week.

One final thought here, that is stretch only after your work-outs as research indicates stretching before an event or work out actually decreases power output. Pay special attention to the hip flexors, hamstrings and glutes.

Tip #4: Inner Abdominal Strength.

Suck in your stomach with a deep breath; try to imagine sucking into the spine. Hold this position for 20 seconds. Repeat 4 more times, do these 3-4 times a week to reap the performance rewards and the appearance of a slimmer waist as the internal organs won’t sag!

One final thought on this subject is recent research in Nitric Oxide (NO) supplements seems to indicate that they speed up fast-twitch muscles and

seem to make slow-twitch fibers act more like the fast as well. This may make this the ultimate in vertical jump supplementation possibly rivaling with Creatine Monohydrate!

NO-Xplode

NO-Xplode is the world’s first and only pre-workout supplement that produces immediate results in energy, size, strength, pumps, performance, mental focus, and training intensity.

One of the key elements to increase your vertical jump is by building leg strength. Strength is needed to solidify your core and gives you all the energy to jump higher. As such, if you are looking to jump higher fast, you must integrate strength training into your routine. Here are 3 surefire strength trainings to increase vertical jump: 1) Deadlifts – Deadlifts are excellent for increasing your strength to jump higher. Hold onto the weights with your legs shoulder length apart, forming a 90 – 100 degree angle.

Perform the lifts while keeping your back straight. Do 3 sets of 10. 2) Full back squats – Full back squats with weights is one of the most basic excerice that is used to add strength to your quads and hamstring, thus giving more room to add explosion to your vertical jump. Balancing the weights on your shoulders, dip and peform squats until your legs form a 100 degree angle.

It is extremely important that you keep your back straight when performing deadlifts to prevent any injury and stress on your lower back. 3) Glute Ham Raise – Known as one of the best trainings for your glutes, hamstrings, lower back and calves, this training exercise will add a few inches to your vertical jump fast.

Start with your body in a horizontal position on the bench with your toes pushed into the toe plate. You then push your knees into the pad and curl your body up with your hamstrings while keeping the back rounded. As you approach the top position, squeeze your glutes to finish in a vertical position. If you are really serious in maximizing your jumping ability, one of the best program to learn how to increase your vertical jump is the Jump Manual. It is the most complete training system ever assembled to give you all the tips to jump higher and add strength and explosion to your verticals – To date, athletes has recorded an increase of their verticals of up to 25 INCHES!

I love to play basketball and of course I dream about dunking. I play pickup games every weekend with the same crew. I noticed one of the regulars at the courts starting doing more exercises before and after games. And we all saw that his game was on fire and with increased vertical nearly dunking on every lay-up. I asked him one day what his secret is. He said he had been training from the Jump Manual and already put 6 inches on his vertical.

I found the Top 3 program out there on ways to increase vertical jump and researched them for a week.

Air Alert- Looks good and was the cheapest of the bunch but after reading reviews I found that the program was disorganized and content was week. So I looked on.

Vertical Explosion- At first it looked really good then I found out the author can’t even dunk. Imagine that, teaching way to increase vertical jump, and you can’t dunk! Forget about that.

Jump Manual- Now at 67$ it is not cheap but it does have a double your money back guarantee. I find out that the author really knows what he is talking about and the program has video, charts and e-book. So with nothing to lose I went for it.

Result: I poured through the videos and learned things I never knew about vertical jumping like: extending your last step to get low before your jump, foot placement and exactly how to train for maximum vertical jump.

Well I am just on my 3rd week of vertical jump training with the Manual and have gained an easy 4 inches and my legs look stronger. I am just 5’10” so I have a way to go, but I got two hands on the rim for the first time!

Hope this helps all those who want to dunk. Here is a link to the best website I found.

Most basketball players and athletes will think to their self “How can I improve my vertical jump?”. There are many different things that can be done to make your vertical jump higher. There’s 3 things that a person needs to do to improve their vertical jump. Plyometrics training, recovery, and weightlifting. Weightlifting is priority in most training programs, any added strength you can gain will give you that extra bit of edge to go against your competition. Building your strength will add in your ability to increase your vertical jump. You will be unable to make your vertical jump higher if you do not add weightlifting to your workout. Plyometrics is a sequence of workouts which people use more than one motion such as jumping, to add to the strength of their body, which in turn will help your body jump even higher. What most people don’t know is that you really should give your body time to rest to build strength and muscle. If you don’t give your body a chance to rest after working out and weightlifting you are not giving it the chance to reach it’s highest level. It is usually a good idea to work out 3 to 4 days a week. You should rest your body between each day and your workouts should not last more than 60 minutes. Even though this does not sound like much time for a workout, your body will work better with rest. You will notice the difference in your body after about 5 to 7 days of doing your routine. There is a vertical jump bible that is based on each individual person. This is known to add inches to your jump by each individual type of person. This program includes the plyometrics, weightlifting, the right rest time for your body and also it is affordable. Not any 2 people are the same, when they think to themselves ” How can I improve my vertical jump?” they should want to do it and know there is not a quick fix program that will improve your jump. You need to be persistent if you want a higher vertical jump and make sure the program you are doing is especially for you. Lookout for frauds, that say they can promise you results, not all programs available are going to be right for you.

Is it really possible to increase vertical jumping quickly? Is jumping higher really that important? If you desire to have the competitors edge, learning how to jump higher is vital. In basketball, when you increase your vertical jump, your jump shot will be better, along with rebounding the basketball. As a defensive player, you will be more effective if you are able to jump higher in order to block your competitors shot. In many sports, including basketball, vertical jumping will provide you an advantage, making you a better athlete. In this article, you will learn three ways to help increase vertical jumping now. 1. Weight Lifting and Plyometric Exercises You can increase vertical explosion with plyometric exercises. Plyometrics helps develop quick muscle fibers needed to improve vertical by training your muscles to explode quickly. Over time, plyometric training increases the amount of force you can produce and therefore plyometrics are effective in making you more explosive. This leads to improved sports performance, a higher vertical jump, and faster sprinting times. To clear a myth up, plyometric exercises are not made for improving conditioning or endurance. They are specifically designed for improving reactive and explosive strength. Plyometric training offer a wide array of benefits ranging from improve vertical jump, improved sprinting speed, better explosiveness, improved ability to absorb force, and better agility. Plyometrics are meant to be performed very fast, attempting to reach maximum and with long rest periods in between sets. Too often you see athletes trying to do 5 sets of 10 depth jumps with 1 minute of rest in between. This may help develop endurance, but not explosiveness, which is needed to increase your vertical or jump higher. 2. Agility Drills, Intervals, and Sprints One example of an exercise you can do is called dynamic step overs. It is simply jumping over a object like a box or a bench. The idea is to go from one side of the box to the other as quickly as possible. Start on the right side of the box and quickly step sideways to the left and on to the box. Jump off of the left foot and over to the left side leaving your right foot on the box. Quickly step up with the right leg and jump to the right side. Repeat side to side for 10 repetitions on each side. You need to quickly jump from one side to the other spending as little time on the ground as possible. As you get better and better, increase the height of the box to make it more intense. Since working on muscle explosion is vital for increasing your vertical , sprints and interval are good exercises to do. When you sprint or run as fast as you can, your quick fiber muscles between the hamstrings, quads, and calves are stressed but also developing. Those are the same muscles used to jump higher. 3. Decrease Your Body Weight Excess weight does put more stress on your ankles and knees. You will improve your vertical jump by simply reducing the overall fat deposit of your body. This means you may have to change your diet, less “junk” food to healthy alternatives. Basketball players are encouraged to have more muscle than fat because it improves one’s speed, reaction time, and agility on the court. Common sense tells us it will also increase your jumping abilities.

By and large, the vertical jump defies almost any other human physical movement when it comes to both dance and sports. There are many sports where the vertical jumping ability of the athlete determines his or her success. Outstanding examples of sports where vertical jumping ability comes into play are basketball and volleyball. In dance, ballet wins this award. Clearly, there is a direct relationship between one’s ability to jump vertically and their running speed — especially running speed over shorter distances. Many sports organizations will go so far as to actually test prospective recruits’ ability in vertical jumping. To calculate one’s current vertical jumping height is fairly simple. Mark the fingertips of your strongest hand and then from a standing position, jump as high as possible and touch the wall — then measure that height. Now from a standing postion using the same hand bit without jumping, reach as high as possible and mark the wall with chalked fingertips. Simply subtract this measurement from the previous jump measurement to arrive at your own vertical jump height. The measurement of the jump is flawed if the athlete is permitted to take one or more steps before jumping, as the athlete will convert some of the energy developed in the step taken into the force of propulsion that generates upward lift.Vertical jump strength stems from leg muscles utilized in explosive movement so it is necessary to develop those muscles in a similar fashion used to develop other muscles within an athlete or dancer’s body. Jump height limitations are directly related to fiber distribution in the dancer or athlete’s leg muscles. These fibers are known as fast-twitch and slow-twitch fibers. This distribution is a genetic determination. The more fast-twitch fibers a dancer or athlete has in their leg muscles determines faster muscle contraction thereby increasing one’s speed. Unfortunately, those dancers or athletes who possess more slow-twitch fibers than fast-twitch fibers won’t be able to jump as high as those who possess more fast-twitch fibers than slow-twitch fibers.Out all vertical jump development exercise programs, plyometrics is considered to be the best. Plyometrics emphasizes explosive movement and speed which usually consists of the following exercises… Hopping, bounding, and jumping drills. The best plyometrics training program emphasizes that all exercises be performed at maximum intensity. Dancers and athletes should be warned to take their plyometrics training program levels slowly from one level to the next higher level in order to keep injuries at an absolute minimum. Plyometrics training increases stress on targeted muscle groups so proper rest is essential.Flexibility attained through focused stretching programs, increases joint range of motion necessary to jumping. Hips, knees, and of course, the ankles always require proper stretching. This assists both athlete and dancer in maintaining an approximate 3:2 ratio in their relative strength of the quadriceps to the hamstring. It is not uncommon for a dancer or athlete to increase their vertical jump by as much as four to nine incheas in as little as 90 days.

Many people think that you have to be 6’6 or more to be able to dunk. However if you use the right approach and the correct training, you will also be able to dunk even if you are 5’5. I researched about the top 2 vertical jump programs, and although they had many similarities, one of those programs is definitely the one that will work for you.

Jacob Hiller has developed this jump manual program fundamentals for over 8 years and implemented the latest developments in vertical training. He has helped hundreds of athletes to increase their vertical jump by 10″ and more with his unique approach and extremely targeted towards vertical training.

His program focuses on a wide range of exercises that strenghens every core that involves vertical jumping.

The Jump Manual also provides videos for all of the exercises that mentioned in the manual, so there is no questions on how to do certain exercises. By watching the videos you can see that Jacob is a well trained athlete himself and that he definitely knows what he’s doing, and how to help you to achieve the same conditioning.

Jacob provides one-on-one email coaching for a whole month for free, which is a gold mine if you really want to succeed. If you choose to continue his coaching after one month then you will be required to pay for his coaching on a monthly basis.

Finally, if you are not happy with his program after 60 days then you can get your money back guaranteed. The good news are that the website claims it never happened with anyone that completed his program.

This program is based on scientific principles and at times is hard to understand. This program comes with a pdf document with some photos. It is very long, 150 pages, and most of it has exercises descriptions, which according to him helped him gain almost 20 inches to his vertical.

This program can work, but it is harder to understand some exercises by just looking at pictures and reading about it. It misses the aspect of videos by showing you how the exercise is done in reality.

Overall this program isn’t bad and it’s cheaper. The program will probably help you, but it does not guarantee a specific gain in your vertical jump. If your budget is limited then this will probably work for you.

ConclusionI recommend The Jump Manual since it certainly has everything an athlete needs to succeeed, also if you’re not convinced you can read the testimonials and even get in touch with the players.
